As you know, it’s always blanket season around here. This special blanket was commissioned by a relative whom I met at a recent reunion. She lost her grown son last year and wanted this made for her ex-husband. I found her to be an amazing, unselfish woman and I hope this brings some comfort.
Here, I combined four patches from polo-style shirts.
These blankets were commissioned for two older children. I selected tonal fabrics. The first is a floral with more grey tones and the second is black. The black fabric has a grey undertone and even has a denim look to it. The backing is a light grey, so I think the colors work well.
I had a baby shower a couple weeks ago and make this T Shirt blanket for the mom and dad to be. I had a shirt leftover so I made a T Shirt bib with terrycloth on the back.
I selected a knit fabric for the sashing and a grey minky for the back. Mom and dad were expecting a girl but wanted to keep it gender neutral. I think the hearts are not overly feminine.
