What makes working in a virtual custom sewing studio so interesting is the challenge customers present. A lovely customer sent me her husband’s jersey. She said he was unwilling to part with it. This is a great way to take something sitting in the closet and make something functional out of it!
I worked with the customer to select a fabric. We settled on some options, but it took two visits to the fabric store and input from Annie to help me shore it up. The gold trim was difficult to match. My customer mentioned that her housing decor is contemporary, so we worked within that frame. This fabric jumped out at us originally but I thought it might be too busy when I saw it in person. I returned to it, however, because it was close to the gold tones. I made a 24″ pillow to be sure to fit the motifs on the front and back.
I also added a motif from the sleeve that the customer wanted.
Another quilt finished! This customer was active in the fabric selection. This quilt is going to be a Christmas gift for her high school grad/now freshman in college. She asked her daughter what she would like and she wanted the blank pindot fabric. It’s a classic and always sets off the shirts nicely.
Very creative. Well done!!
