My daughter was looking for a slouchy hat and we came upon some patterns I wanted to try. I selected Autumn by Jane Richmond. It is a super-quick knit, made of Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick. Talk about fast – one day! I added a few extra inches for a bit more slouch. It has a sophisticated look that I think a younger person can pull off. I thought it had potential for me, but I’m not sure….
Working with such thick yarn must be my antidote for the upcoming Lace Knit – A – Long sponsored by Kate. I’m excited about it, but still unsure what I’m going to knit. I’ve ventured into lace only a few times. I guess my Cece qualifies as lace.
And my feather and fan stole.
One of the ideas I am thinking about is the Katharine Hepburn Cardigan. I have some cotton yarn that is the right weight. I think I’d make the short one for one of my girls.
I really like that Katherine Hepburn cardigan. I have it marked, actually! It’s one of those “maybe one of these days when I have nothing else on my needles” things. And you are totally cute, so I say you can pull off anything you feel like wearing!
Creative brainstorming is the PEAR-fect way to spend an evening. Ideas galore! If only there were as many hours in the day as there were ideas!
I love the cardigan! I think the short version would be so cute on a younger girl- it would look really great layered!
All of those projects look wonderful, especially the Scroll Lace Scarf. I really like that slouchy hat, too.
I LOVE the hat! How easy are we talking here? Like, easy for someone who can knit more than scarves? Or easy for someone who has knit a few scarves and is halfway through a bear? 🙂
That short sweater is beautiful, made somehow cooler by being named after katharine Hepburn. On the other hand Ysolda’s patterns are amazing also. Tough choice.
Jane,
Love the hat……she looks adorable! Love the shape and color, you have lucky daughters!
Great job on the hat! Looks great! I heart Ysolda’s patterns almost as much as Jane’s. Good pick!
Great job on the slouch hat! Nice blog!
Hi from PEAR! 🙂 All of these projects are lovely, and the hat turned out super cute. I’m a Lion Brand junkie, and just stopped by the Lion Brand Yarn Studio this past weekend when I was in NYC. Needless to say, I left with a huge bag of goodies.
