A long time client asked me to make a quilt from her Lilly Pulitzer clothes. She sent about 10 shorts/skorts, 2 pairs of pants and one blouse. I love the colors! I cut apart the shorts and decided a 7.5″ block would work best. I was able to get 4 blocks from each pair of shorts. I often had to remove part of the hem or stitch down the pocket. I was surprised that I cut 88 blocks, which worked perfectly for an 8 x 11 grid to make this generously-sized throw.
