Shortly after Christmas, I cranked out these hats to meet the bitter weather that we were soon to meet in a Northeast Ohio January. The recipients were thrilled with the hats and wore them diligently. Now that it’s March and we’ve experienced one or two warm days, there has been a collective sigh, no scream, “We are sick of winter.” So, despite the 20 degree weather that faced us this morning, the hats remained at the bottom of their bins, and we headed out, hatless, shivering, and in denial of winter.
