Part laziness, part frugality, part hypocrite (because I always adore sweetly wrapped packages!) is my approach to wrapping gifts. I grab whatever is close: usually the back side of cheap, leftover Christmas paper that the kids decorate. In this instance, I was wrapping a book for a sports-loving friend, so I used a page from Sports Illustrated.

I grew up using newspaper comics to wrap gifts, and although I’ve used magazines for cards and such I hadn’t thought to use them for wrapping. Great idea!

That’s a great idea, especially for a sports nut. I read this post earlier today and my mind has been whirling all day coming up with ideas for wrapping holiday gifts. I’m thinking of old maps for someone who loves to travel.
