I’m attending a baby shower for my cousin’s daughter this weekend. I’m so excited to give them this baby blanket! They know about the blanket, but I think it will still be fun for them to see how it came together!
Dad is the oldest of 9 kids, I think. His mom gave him his old receiving blanket and hooded baby towel. I used the receiving blanket as the center square and cut off the triangle of the hooded towel and used it to applique a rocking horse.
I used the rest of the receiving blanket to make a couple burp cloths. I simply sewed rectangles of the receiving blanket and towel together to make these.
I used this fuzzy, furry fleece for the first time ever and I adore it! It’s so soft and cushy!
I wasn’t sure about all the greens, but it seems to work. They don’t know if they are having a boy or girl and there was a lot of green in the T Shirts, but I like the celery green colors.
Love the way it turned out. The rocking horse is adorable and I love the fleece backing.
I love all the green…and it looks so soft! I love your baby blankets Jane. I also love that the mom saved her son’s towel and receiving blanket for him.
They are going to love it! Have fun at the baby shower!
