I have searched for a blog post on this blanket twice in the past few weeks and can’t find it! I don’t think I ever shared this blanket. Perhaps because it was a Mother’s Day gift commissioned by the recipient’s husband. Well, some more sweet dads have been inquiring about surprising their wives with a special gift, so I thought it might be best to share this example.
The challenge is to take baby clothes and turn them into a larger blanket for an adult to enjoy. My standard Baby Clothes Memory Blankets are about four feet square. This blanket is about 5′ x 6′. Also, there were some larger t shirts included in this batch. So I decided that rows would be effective. Some rows had larger blocks and some smaller. I bordered the rows with a strip of hot pink polka dot and bordered the entire blanket with a pretty floral fabric. The blanket is backed in a blue minky.
I just love how sweet it turned out.
Love it! Way back when, before I was a regular reader of your blog, I purchase the pattern for making one of these…it is still on my to do list ~ but one day it will happen!
