Some time ago I created a memory pillow from a varsity jacket. It was a sad story about a dad who left this world too early. I created a pillow for his wife (you can read about it here.) She came back to me and asked me to use what remained to create pillows for her two sons.) The mother had another varsity jacket sitting in her closet that belongs to her other son. She decided she wanted to use it to make pillows for her granddaughters as Christmas gifts.
It was hard to find a fabric that coordinated with the jacket. I aimed not for a perfect match, but something in the grey family. My main goal was to have something “teenish” so I brought my resident teen along to help me pick the fabric. I think it is a fun print!
What a lovey idea and story Jane.
It makes me wonder what other memory gems are hiding out in closets that could be made useful!
I hope you had a nice Christmas. xo
