There’s something about babies that makes me want to sew. I saw adorable bucket hats over at Goodbye Valentino and couldn’t wait for an opportunity to sew one. There is a free pattern from Oliver + S and you can download it here.

I learned that the shower was for a baby girl and the parents’ favorite Cleveland sports team is the Cleveland Indians. I found the fabric at Joanns and selected the polka dot for the contrast. The hat is reversible, although I feel the red side may have a few puckers.

I then gathered up some ribbons from my stash to make a “ribbon” blanket inspired by Taggie blankets. You can use my tutorial to make one.

I have a lot of minky scraps in the studio to use as backing!

There are a lot of free bib patterns available. I made a bib in newborn and a large size. I backed it with cotton chenille that was also in my scrap pile.

I couldn’t resist adding one of Anne Cate’s skyline onesies.
